Overview
As the exclusive U.S. ISBN and SAN Agency, Bowker® receives the most authoritative title and publisher information available, making it the world's leading source for bibliographic information.  Bowker has been providing unbiased bibliographic information to libraries since its founding in 1872.  Books In Print® debuted in 1948 as the index to the Publisher’s Trade Annual.  A CD version came along in 1986 and BooksInPrint.com™ was launched in 1999.

Bowker acquired Medialab Solutions in 2007.  Medialab is the creator of AquaBrowser™, the world leader in visual faceted searching and offers a revolutionary search front-end for over 250 libraries worldwide.

Bowker is creating the next generation of BooksInPrint.com; one that will:

  • combine the rich bibliographic content from Bowker with the rich visual search experience of an AquaBrowser;
  • embrace “web 2.0” by adding a wealth of social features to BooksInPrint.com with My Discoveries and incorporate millions of tags, ratings and reviews from LibraryThing users;
  • integrate BooksInPrint.com/GlobalBooksInPrint.com with Fiction Connection and Non-Fiction Connection;
  • incorporate new search technologies, while maintaining all the familiar library searching and workflow tools;
  • revolutionize the way you search and discover information about books.
Please join us for a preview of the next generation of BooksInPrint.com that will increase the relevance and usefulness of BooksInPrint.com to all users. We are looking to launch the next generation of Books In Print.com® in late Q4 2008.
